Find answers to the most common questions about the Travel Plan by Inman
If a participant dies away from their legal residence, your family or representatives call the Travel Plan first.
One call gets Inman working on:
• Contacting a licensed funeral service near the death location
• Preparing the body for transportation
• Securing paperwork like a death certificate
• Placing the person in a certified shipping container
• Arranging transport back home to the local funeral home All of this is coordinated for you
The plan covers everything involved in bringing a loved one home, including:
• Funeral home contact and preparation
• Transport from the location of death
• Legal paperwork and documentation
• Shipping containers
• Transportation to the local funeral home
• This includes the coordination and professional handling, which can otherwise be complicated and costly.
Everyone! These days, everyone travels away from home at some point during the year. The plan protects people when traveling 75 miles or more from home — whether for work, retirement living, snowbird trips, vacations, or international travel. It’s about protecting your family from the emotional and financial stress if the unexpected occurs far from home.
Coverage usually begins once Inman processes your agreement and payment — so it’s active from the start of your plan term.
After enrollment, members typically receive:
• A welcome letter
• A membership card
• A change-of-address card (the plan travels with you) This helps in emergencies and ensures your family knows how to contact the plan.
No — people of all ages can enroll in the Travel Plan, making it suitable for travelers young and old.
The Travel Plan does not cover medical tourism — meaning travel specifically for medical care outside your home area isn’t included. An example of this would be traveling to another country for cosmetic surgery.
It’s very important that Travel Plan by Inman is called first at 1-888-889-8508 or (260) 247-2289 if outside the United States BEFORE making any arrangements locally. This ensures the transportation is handled legally and fully within the plan’s coverage. If you make other arrangements first, the plan may not apply.
